Tyner-Meeks is chosen as health system's employee of the year
Northeast Georgia Health System named Kim Tyner-Meeks as its 2010 Employee of the Year and recognized other employees for their tenure of service during the organization's annual employee appreciation dinner Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Gainesville.

"Kim has touched countless lives in her role as an Outpatient Chemotherapy nurse," said Jim Gardner, NGHS President and CEO. "She goes beyond her role as a nurse to become part of her patient's support group."

Tyner-Meeks has worked for Northeast Georgia Medical Center for 13 years. She joined the organization as a pharmacy technician and continued to work as she attended nursing school. After graduation, she began working at the Cancer Center at NGMC in Outpatient Chemotherapy.

In all, 562 employees with 6,235 years of collected service were recognized for their tenures, including two, Becky Shuler and Veran Smith, for 40 years of service.

The organization recognized another 259 employees for five years of service during a separate banquet Monday night.
