Daniel J. Baker named senior vice president at Verity Bank
Daniel Baker, a Forsyth County native, has been named senior vice president and commercial lender for Verity Bank located in Winder. He previously served in a similar role at Forsyth Community Bank.

"We are so excited that Mr. Baker has joined the Verity Bank team," said Bronson Lavender, Verity's executive vice president.

Baker is the son of Forsyth County residents Brent and Dorothy Baker. He graduated from South Forsyth High School in 1993 and received his bachelor's degree in business administration in 1998 from Kennesaw State University.

Baker and his wife, Jennifer, are expecting their first child. They are members of Gainesville First United Methodist Church.

Verity Bank is located at 94 West Athens St. in Winder.

Rushton & Co. promotes Pilgrim to audit manager
Clay Pilgrim has been promoted to audit manager at Rushton & Co. , a Gainesville accounting firm.

Pilgrim will assist in managing the firm's governmental and nonprofit audit engagements and staff, plus other client audit services. He will oversee all phases of audits, including client relations and developing internal firm policies.

Pilgrim obtained his Certified Public Accountant certification in 2008 and also has the designation of Certified Fraud Examiner. A graduate of North Georgia College & State University, he joined the firm in 2006 and previously held the position of audit senior.

Founded in 1981, Rushton & Company, LLC, provides accounting services for businesses throughout North Georgia.

Edward Jones promotes Boyd to senior office administrator
Patricia Boyd has been promoted to senior branch office administrator at the Edward Jones financial services firm on Green Street in Gainesville.

Boyd has been with Edward Jones the past four years. To qualify for her new position, she had to meet specific training requirements and demonstrate exceptional performance.

Edward Jones provides financial services for individual investors in the United States and Canada.

Local physicians chosen to national medical group
Two local doctors were elected officers with the Georgia Chapter of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists at its annual meeting Feb. 27 in Atlanta.

Matthey T. Harris was elected to the Board of Directors, where she will serve a three-year term.

Harris earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. She has been a member of AACE since 2004.

Cacia V. Soares-Welch was elected to a one-year term as secretary.

Soares-Welch earned her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. She has been a member of AACE since 2002.

Both doctors have practiced at Northeast Georgia Diagnostic Clinic since 2005.

AACE is a professional medical organization with more than 6,000 members in the United States and 91 other countries.
