JOA Marine earns national small-business award
JOA Marine has been selected for the 2009 Best of Business Award in the motor boat dealers category by the Small Business Commerce Association.
The SBCA, based in San Francisco, recognizes the top 5 percent of small businesses nationwide. A selection committee reviews customer feedback, consumer rankings and other criteria to select the award winners.
JOA Marine is based in Marietta and operates a location for new and used boats at Holiday Marina on Lake Lanier.
Landscape services earns awards from industry peers
New Leaf Landscape Services of Gainesville has received four Professional Landscape awards from the Metropolitan Atlanta Landscape and Turf Association, including a Grand Award for the maintenance of the company's landscape installation at the mountain home of Norm and Angie Moye in Dahlonega.
The company also was recognized with Awards of Distinction for its landscape maintenance at Lakewood Baptist Church and the Jim Syfan residence and an Award of Merit for its landscape installation at the Dan Winston residence.

The company, founded in 1989, offers design, installation and maintenance landscaping for residential and commercial customers in the Northeast Georgia region.
MALTA promotes professionalism, adherence to industry standards and education. Its 2009 awards included 63 entries in 12 categories.
