Lacey picked to manage communications for 9th District GOP
Richard E. Lacey of Hall County is the new 9th District GOP communications director. He was selected by the Ninth District Committee on Saturday.

Lacey places Bettye Chambers, also of Hall County, who resigned to work on two campaigns and to accept a position on the National Federation of Republican Women's Board of Directors.

Lacey will manage the district's popular Web site and districtwide communications.
"The district has a real find with Rich, and we're fortunate to have this talent," Chairman Doug Grammer said.

Lacey's background is in communications and technology. He currently is webmaster for the Hall County Republican Party. He also is an adjunct professor of business and mass communications at Brenau University in Gainesville, and teaches web promotion, marketing, communications and operations management.

"Coming after Bettye is a tough job in anybody's book," said Jim Pilgrim, Hall County GOP chairman. "But I wholeheartedly believe that Rich will bring his own added value to our District communications."

The 9th District comprises 15 counties, including Hall, Lumpkin, Forsyth, Dawson and White.
