Longstreet Clinic's Patterson chosen state administrator of year
Pam M. Patterson, administrator of The Longstreet Clinic's Center for Pediatrics, has been honored by the Georgia Medical Group Management Association as Administrator of the Year.
The statewide award among medical group managers was announced June 24 at the association's annual conference in Destin, Fla., comes with an educational scholarship.
Patterson began her career with the Northeast Georgia Pediatric Group in 1978. In 1995, the practice merged with other practices to form The Longstreet Clinic in Gainesville. Under her leadership, the pediatric practice has grown from seven physicians and two nurse practitioners to more than 20 physicians, seven nurse practitioners and more than 85 staff members and four locations.
Annette Sloan, chairwoman of the selection committee, called Patterson "part of the foundation" of TLC, and said the group recognized how far the Center for Pediatrics has come under her leadership.
"As the practice has grown, she has not missed a beat in helping us as physicians to be the best that we can be," said Dr. Eugene Cindea, pediatrician and president of The Longstreet Clinic. "Her peers in management are recognizing what we have known for many years — Pam Patterson is an administrator who has earned her stripes and manages her practice well for the benefit of patients, staff and providers."
Patterson has served on the Georgia Pediatric Practice Manager's Association steering committee for several years and is currently its chairwoman. She is a member of several other key medical organizations. Last year, Patterson achieved fellowship in the American College of Medical Practice Executives, the highest distinction in the medical group practice management profession.
Patterson and her husband, Tony, live in Flowery Branch.
