Miller joins staff of visitors bureau

Jennifer Miller has joined the Gainesville-Hall County Convention and Visitors Bureau as sales manager.

"Jennifer’s reputation and experience in this industry will benefit our bureau immensely," said Stacey Dickson, president of the Gainesville/Hall County Convention and Visitors Bureau. "She has great connections throughout the Southeast and credentials to back them up."

Miller was previously with the Coweta County Convention & Visitors Bureau in Newnan, where she was responsible for managing the area’s welcome center.

A graduate of Bauder College in Atlanta, she is working on her Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She holds the Tourism Marketing Professional designation from the Southeast Tourism Society.

She and her husband, Robert, have two daughters.

Three promoted at GB&T

Angela Antonia, Dey Palmer and Joyce Shewbert have been named to new positions at Gainesville Bank & Trust.

Antonia has been promoted to vice president. She is retail operations officer for all GB&T branches and is responsible for the management of all regulatory and compliance issues related to federal and state banking regulations and the development of related policies and procedures. Prior to joining GB&T, she worked as compliance officer, loan operations manager and branch manager at Lumpkin County Bank.

A graduate of the University of Connecticut, she also completed the Community Bankers Association’s Consumer Lending School.

Antonia is a member of the Dahlonega Sunrise Rotary Club and a board member of the Downtown Development Authority in Dahlonega.

Palmer has been promoted to assistant vice president. After joining GB&T in October 2004, Palmer became branch manager of the bank’s North Hall office and Thompson Bridge drive-through locations in April 2006. He has more than six years of banking experience in the local and North Georgia market.

A graduate of Mercer University with both a BBA and an MBA in management, Palmer will graduate from the Georgia Bankers Association’s Georgia Banking School in Athens in May 2008. Palmer is a member of the Gainesville Jaycees, and has served on both the board of directors and the executive board.

Joyce Shewbert has been promoted to banking officer at the bank’s Oakwood office. Shewbert joined GB&T in November 1991 and is responsible for the daily operations of the branch office. Before joining GB&T, she worked with Wachovia and has more than 36 years of experience in the local banking market. A graduate of South Hall High, she completed courses through the American Institute of Banking and the American Bankers Association.
