The woman seriously injured in a wreck off Interstate 985 Sunday has been identified.

Karen Mosely, 45, of Buford, is in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

She was driving south on I-985 when she overcorrected her steering and lost control of her Ford Focus north of Exit 17, Gainesville police Officer Joe Britte said.

The car then flipped twice and landed in a ditch about 200 feet from the interstate, he said.

The woman was thrown from the car.

The incident, which happened at about 1:45 p.m., resulted in authorities closing the southbound lanes of I-985 so that a medical helicopter could land.

Mosely then was flown to Grady.
