Buford bank robber still at large

A man Friday demanded access to the vault of a Buford bank and left with a sum of money, according to authorities.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators and the FBI are looking for the suspect in a robbery at the BB&T Bank on Lanier Islands Parkway in Buford.

Sheriff’s Office Lt. Scott Ware said the man “forced an employee into the bank at gunpoint” and demanded access to the vault. The suspect then “forced two employees in an interior room at the bank” before fleeing.

The amount of money taken was not disclosed, and no one was injured during the robbery.

Authorities said they believe the suspect is in a light-colored SUV or van.

The suspect is a black man 6 feet tall and weighing more than 220 pounds.
