The developer of a planned RaceTrac convenience has put off a public hearing allowing that use as part of a 23-acre shopping center off Ga. 211 at the Hall-Gwinnett county line.

Gipco Southern Inc. was to appear Monday before the Braselton Planning Commission on the request, but then, in a letter to city officials, put off the request.

A reason for the deferral wasn’t given, Braselton Planning and Development Director Kevin Keller said Tuesday.

G. Douglas Dillard, an official representing Gipco, couldn’t be reached for comment.

“RaceTrac will be taking some additional time to work with the community as we finalize our proposed development,” RaceTrac spokeswoman Liz McIntyre said.

Also planned at the shopping center, The Village at Chateau Elan, are a Zaxby’s restaurant and a Starbucks coffee shop, according to a map filed by Gipco.
