A man died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Friday night at the Lake Lanier Club Apartments off Dawsonville Highway, Hall County coroner’s office officials said Saturday.

The apparent suicide occurred in the parking lot of the apartment complex, Deputy Hall County Coroner John Abernathy said.

Gainesville police are investigating, but all indications point to suicide, officials said.

The age of the man was not immediately available.

It is the policy of The Times to not report suicides unless they occur in public places or involve public figures.
