Body found in Hoschton park identified as Winder man

Authorities said a body found last week in a Hoschton park has been identified as a Winder man.

The body of Buford Evans, 41, was found shortly after noon Oct. 11 at Sell's Mill Park by a visitor.

The visitor called 911 after seeing the body in a creek at the park on Jackson Trail Road in Jackson County.

“The official autopsy results are pending further testing,” the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Tuesday, Oct. 16.

The GBI previously said “no immediate trauma” was found during an autopsy.

GBI spokeswoman Nelly Miles said the agency is working with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office to gather more details.
