Update: Gainesville Police are investigating after a woman was found dead Thursday, Jan. 13, along a public utilities access road off Dorsey Street south of Pearl Nix Parkway.

Cpl. Jessica Van said police received a call regarding an unresponsive woman just before 10 a.m. Thursday.

Kimberly A. Johnson, 41, of Gainesville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police department announced the investigation on its social media channels just after 6 p.m. Thursday.

Van did not have the manner of death, and an autopsy has been scheduled for Johnson.

No further details were provided by police.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding Johnson’s death to call 770-534-5251.
