A 20-year-old man was sentenced to 35 years in confinement after a jury trial in an aggravated child molestation case, according to court documents.

Herson Aguilar-Sanchez was convicted on all counts following a trial in late November.

Superior Court Judge Kathlene Gosselin imposed a 35-year sentence Tuesday, Dec. 10, with life on probation.

The jury found Aguilar-Sanchez guilty on counts of aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy, child molestation and first-degree child cruelty.

Defense attorney Chris van Rossem declined to comment.

Oakwood Police Investigator Todd Templeton previously told The Times a girl under the age of 10 disclosed in August 2018 she had been molested by two men over the course of several months.

Aguilar-Sanchez was charged while they continued investigation into a second man, Edin Abisai Sanchez-Aguilar.

Edin Sanchez-Aguilar was charged with aggravated child molestation in May 2019. No formal accusation or indictment has been filed in the Hall County courthouse since then, according to the online docket.

Aguilar-Sanchez will face the special sex offender conditions of probation.
