A Gainesville man is accused of sexually assaulting a boy on several occasions between 2011 and 2013, according to authorities.

Tommy Joe Strickland, 54, was booked Wednesday, Dec. 11, in to the Hall County Jail on aggravated sodomy charges. He remained in jail Friday without bond.

Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators started on the case Sept. 9 after a report was made at department headquarters.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Derreck Booth did not disclose the boy’s age or exactly how the allegations were reported to law enforcement.

Booth said detectives determined the victim was sexually assaulted between January 2011 and August 2013 at Strickland’s former residence in Flowery Branch.

The case is still under investigation.

Defense attorney Brett Willis declined to comment.
