Authorities identify victim in fatal Lula Road crash

Update: A Lula woman died Friday in a crash that shut down Lula Road west of Ga. 365/Cornelia Highway near the Magnolia Station subdivision, according to authorities.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said around 5:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, that the road was closed as Georgia State Patrol was investigating the crash.

State patrol said Cindy Flanagan, 48, was driving a Honda Accord east on Lula Road on a curve. Flanagan crossed the center line and hit a tractor-trailer in the other lane, state patrol said.

The tractor-trailer went off the road and was fully engulfed in flames, according to state patrol.

Flanagan died from her injuries, and the driver of the tractor-trailer, Danny Garmon, 60, of Gainesville, had minor injuries.

Flanagan was determined to be the at-fault driver, according to a state patrol report.

The road reopened around 7:30 p.m. Friday, according to Williams.
