Four Gainesville men and a 15-year-old allegedly robbed at gunpoint a person who was carrying a rifle and marijuana, authorities said Tuesday.

Natanael Soto-Wences, 17, Roberto Carlos Angeles-Avila, 17, Brandon Martinez-Nava, 18, and Guillermo Daniel Chavez, 18, all of Gainesville, were charged Wednesday with armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The 15-year-old’s name was not released.

Authorities said the men used a shotgun during the robbery to take an AR-15 rifle and an undisclosed amount of marijuana. Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad agents and Gainesville Police later found the five suspects along with the shotgun, rifle and marijuana in a vehicle.

“The AR-15 rifle was determined to have been stolen recently from a local business,” Lt. Scott Ware wrote in a news release.

A sixth man, Joe Guadalupe Blanco, 24, of Gainesville, was later arrested for his alleged involvement, authorities said. Blanco was charged additionally with theft by receiving and theft of a controlled substance.

All five men were taken to the Hall County Jail, and the juvenile was taken to the Regional Youth Detention Center.
