Authorities seek suspect in pharmacy robbery
Earlier incident at Oakwood pharmacy may be related, police say
Surveillance video shows a suspect in a recent robbery at a CVS in Oakwood. His description matches that of a suspect in a possible armed robbery that happened Tuesday at the Ingles on Winder Highway in Flowery Branch.

Authorities were seeking a suspect Tuesday in a possible armed robbery at the Ingles pharmacy in Flowery Branch.

The suspect was described as a white man between 6 feet, 3 inches and 6 feet, 4 inches tall, with white gauze on his cheek and dark hair.

He was driving a newer model silver passenger car believed to be a Honda or Nissan Altima, authorities said.

The incident at Ingles at 4260 Winder Highway happened about 9 a.m. Tuesday. The suspect left, heading toward Braselton on Old Winder Highway, according to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Jonathan Munger.

Sgt. Mark Mitchell with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said, “the suspect told employees that he was armed. However, no weapon was seen.”

Oakwood Police Investigator Danny Sridej said another recent incident at a CVS in Oakwood could be related. It involved a man asking the pharmacist for Lortab and Percocet narcotic pain relievers.

Video surveillance images from CVS portray a man wearing a green cap and black track jacket over a light-colored shirt and tan pants. He also had gauze on his face.

“He then walked behind the pharmacy area and snatched drug bottles and filled prescription bags belonging to other customers before leaving the store,” Sridej said in an email.

The incidents remain under investigation, and anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigations Division at 770-531-6879 or the Oakwood Police Department at 770-534-2364.
