Authorities: Man threatens security officers with knife at Lanier Islands resort

A man allegedly held a knife in a threatening manner near three security officers at Lanier Islands Resort, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

Nicholas Ryan Brand, 19, was arrested on May 25 and charged with aggravated assault and misdemeanor obstruction of an officer, according to the warrant.

According to the warrant, the incident occurred around 9:39 p.m. on May 24 at the resort. Brand allegedly had a fixed-blade knife “in a threatening manner to three uniformed security officers” at the resort, according to the warrant. Brand allegedly fled on foot from a uniformed deputy at the scene, according to the warrant.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office report of the incident was not available.

Attempts to reach a representative from the resort’s public relations department for comment were unsuccessful. A representative from the security department declined to comment.

Brand was taken to the Hall County Jail.
