The Hall County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday it had found the body of a drowning victim on Aug. 24 in Murrayville.

Gregory Todd Walker, 53, of Cumming, was found 40 yards offshore by deputies after a family member reported him missing because after being unable to contact him. Deputies were responding to a lakeside property owned by Walker in the 8000 block of Beachwood Drive and found personal items belonging to Walker near the dock.

Walker was found as the Sheriff’s Office dive team was preparing to search the area.

The DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s office determined drowning as the cause of death, and foul play is not suspected.
