Law enforcement spent more than an hour searching for a Gainesville man who drove off with a 1-year-old child, according to authorities.
Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies first went around 10:25 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, to the 3,000 block of Arbor Drive in South Hall.
The mother of a 1-year-old boy had been in a relationship with Justin Tyler Rogers, 29, though there was some sort of dispute between them that morning.
Rogers took the boy and left, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Derreck Booth wrote in a news release.
Booth did not clarify if Rogers had any legal or familial relationship with the child.
Neighboring law enforcement agencies received a be-on-the-lookout notice from the Sheriff’s Office, as some officers started searching local parks.
Officers found Rogers and the child around 11:30 a.m. in a car at Robinson Park off of Dawsonville Highway.
The child was uninjured and was not in a child safety seat.
Rogers was taken to the Hall County Jail, where he was charged with kidnapping and reckless conduct.
He is still being held on a $11,400 bond.
The case is still under investigation.
