A Braselton man is accused of breaking another person’s ribs and injuring the victim’s liver and spleen in a Christmas Day assault, according to authorities.

Jason Thomas Akins, 32, is charged with aggravated battery by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. He was booked Sunday in to the Hall County Jail.

According to the sheriff’s office, Akins allegedly assaulted the victim “by kicking and hitting the victim’s head and on his body.” The incident allegedly took place on Capitola Farm Road in Hall County.

“As a result of the incident, the victim suffered broken ribs, injuries to his liver and spleen, vision problems and cuts to his head which required stitches and staples,” Lt. Scott Ware wrote in a news release.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant on April 11.

The case is still under investigation.

Ware did not return a call for comment for further details.
