A Gainesville man allegedly dragged a woman by her hair and threatened her with a knife before her young child helped her escape, according to authorities.

Miguel Robles-Fernandez, 26, is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, kidnapping and armed robbery in the incident around midnight Monday.

A 28-year-old woman left her vehicle as she approached her residence on Tracy Lane in Oakwood.

“Robles came out from the side of the residence and (dragged) the female by her hair and arms to the side of the residence at knifepoint, threatening to stab her,” Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Deputy Nicole Bailes wrote in an email.

The woman fought back and attempted to take the knife away, injuring her hands in the process, Bailes said.

“During the altercation, the victim screamed numerous times for help and those screams were heard by her young child in the home,” Bailes said. “The victim’s child opened the carport door and the victim had the opportunity to escape Robles.”

Robles is accused of taking the woman’s phone before fleeing the residence, according to authorities.

The victim was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

“The victim was able to identify Robles as the suspect because she had previously worked with Robles’ wife,” Bailes said.
Robles also faces four counts of violating the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act for alleged connections to BOE23, Bailes said.

He is being held at the Hall County Jail without bond and will have a committal hearing on March 18.
