Hall County firefighters battled a brush fire covering 2-3 acres in South Hall on Monday.

Upon arrival, they found that the fire was “fast moving and threatening several homes,” Fire Services spokesman Zachary Brackett said.

The fire, which was reported at 1 p.m., is off Stoneridge Drive, which is off Oliver Road.

The Georgia Forestry Commission was also contacted for assistance, Brackett said.

Firefighters also battled a 2 p.m. house fire on Deer Ridge Court off Cash Road, also in South Hall.

A 1,000-square-foot wood shop was engulfed in fire, Brackett said.

The cause of both fires isn’t known at this point, he said.
