An undercover law enforcement unit found five massage parlors in Hall County that authorities believe have been involved with prostitution and other illegal practices.
Seven people were arrested during the Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad sting between April 20 and Tuesday, May 1.
Lt. Don Scalia said law enforcement had received complaints about establishments in the area regarding “keeping places of prostitution, prostitution, masturbation for hire and massage without (a) license.”
Scalia would not disclose the names of the establishments. The locations he provided include the 3000 block of McEver Road, the 1700 and 1800 blocks of Atlanta Highway, the 1300 block of Dawsonville Highway and the 200 block of John Morrow Jr. Parkway. The Times has requested incident reports to obtain more information.
“Two additional establishments were checked and were found to be conducting legitimate business at the time of this investigation,” Scalia said in a news release. The MANS unit found no evidence of human trafficking.
Myung Hee Lim, 49, of Oakwood, Sue Yeon Crum, 71, of Lawrenceville, Uni Chong Bell, 63, of Lawrenceville, Zhao Dongming, 50, of Gainesville and Ju Hyun Lee, 44, of Duluth, were charged with keeping a place of prostitution.
Crum, Bell, Dongming, Lee and Shun Zi Li, 48, of Duluth, also were charged with masturbation for hire.
Soo Jin Chang, 46, of Oakwood, was charged with prostitution, and Li was charged with massage without a license.
