Driver charged with failure to maintain lane

A truck carrying six people overturned Sunday afternoon on Ga. 365 near Cagle Road in North Hall, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

GSP said driver Troy Williams, 43, of Gainesville, said he crossed from the right lane into the left lane and overcorrected. Authorities said Williams struck an enbankment and overturned multiple times. He is charged with failure to maintain lane, GSP said.

Susan Williams, 50, of Gainesville; Jonathan Williams, 13, of Gainesville; Bridget Shirley, 31, of Cornelia; and Brianna Ivester, 5, of Cornelia were passengers. Richard Bell, 28, of Gainesville was in the truck bed when the wreck happened, according to authorities.

Five truck occupants were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with non-emergency injuries, Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle said.
