A visit from artist Carol Christie was the highlight Wednesday of the summer art camp, “Art As Science, Science As Art,” at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center in Gainesville. Each student took a turn at the large canvas, applying paint with many different brushes or sometimes, no brush at all. During the project, students were able to apply knowledge learned during the camp such as mixing colors and using various objects to scratch, smear and remove paint, as well as applying paint using traditional brushes.
