Arson suspected in fire that damages historic Hoschton depot
Authorities call blaze suspicious; site listed on National Historic Register

The historic Hoschton Depot sustained heavy fire damage early Friday morning and authorities believe the fire was deliberately set. Emergency units from West Jackson, Jackson Trail, North Jackson and the Jackson County Correctional Institute Fire Departments responded to the fire, which was called in just before 4:30 a.m. Friday. The first firefighter to arrive at the depot, located at 4272 Ga. 53 across from Hoschton City Square, reported smoke and fire coming from the back side of the structure.
