An Alto woman is accused of shooting a man three times in the chest Monday in Gainesville, police said.

April Dawn Haag, 29, was charged with aggravated battery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

At the time of the incident, Haag was a mailroom employee of The Times, though she was not working that day.

According to the warrant, Haag is accused of shooting Larry Roberts, 41, of Lula, “three times in the torso and arms, causing serious disfigurement and injuries.”

Gainesville Police responded to The Times’ office Monday morning “in reference to a possible shooting that had occurred earlier in the morning,” according to a report.

The shooting actually occurred at the intersection of Jesse Jewell Parkway and Prior Street several blocks from The Times, according to the warrant.

Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said Roberts has been treated and released from medical care.

Haag was booked in to the Hall County Jail Monday evening, where she remains.

Police did not provide any further details regarding the incident.
