Alto man sentenced to 25 years in child molestation case

An Alto man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison without parole following a conviction of aggravated child molestation, among other charges.

James Brandon Ayers was convicted by a Hall County jury Wednesday on the charge, along with aggravated sodomy and child molestation. Ayers, 17 at the time of the crimes, was accused of molesting a 5-year-old boy in 2011 and 2012. The child is now 8 years old.

Ayers was sentenced to a minimum of 25 years in prison with no parole, followed by probation. Probation conditions include partaking in a mental health evaluation and having no contact with the victim or his family, along with other conditions related to sex offenders.
