Braselton is capitalizing on a demand for buildings with 1 million square feet of space.
Ackerman & Co. last week announced plans to develop a 1,000,480-square-foot bulk distribution center in Braselton. That comes just after the closing of a $4.5 million land deal with Synovus Bank.
The new facility will be built on 107 acres off Broadway Avenue and BDC Parkway. It’s slated for completion in early 2017.
Combining two parcels allowed for repositioning of the building, which will be located near Whole Foods Distribution Market in Braselton Logistics Center, said Patrick Chesser, senior vice president of Ackerman & Company.
Architect Randall Paulson, civil engineer Elberly Associates and general contractor Conlan Co. will bring the project to fruition.
The location of the logistics center, less than two miles off the Interstate 85 and Ga. 211 interchange at Exit 126, has also attracted Havertys, Mizuno, Hitachi and Kichler Lighting.
The center is also in close proximity to Exit 129 where Carter’s is located in Park 53 at Braselton.
Kris Miller, president of Ackerman & Co., said the most dynamic segment of the Atlanta industrial market remains buildings of a million square feet or more, and few of that size remain uncommitted at this point.
Braselton is a major logistics center along Interstate 85.
Williams-Sonoma recently entered advanced discussions with Hillwood Investment Properties to lease the more than 1-million-square-foot Braselton Commerce Center in Jackson County, which was a spec building developed for Ridgeline Property Group.
Another large spec building is nearing completion on Broadway Avenue near the intersection of Davis Street.
