A 90-year-old man is in stable condition after being ejected from his truck Friday night in Gainesville, according to authorities.

Hubert Deaton, of Gainesville, was driving a Ford F-150 truck Friday evening on Thompson Bridge Road.

“The initial investigation indicates that a Ford F-150 failed to yield right of way as it was pulling out of the Publix on Thompson Bridge Road,” Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook wrote in an email. “The truck struck a southbound Toyota Sienna nearly head-on.”

Four of the seven occupants in the Sienna were transported to the hospital in stable condition, police said.

The van crashed into a HoneyBaked Ham store. Two employees inside the store were startled but not injured. The minivan did not appear to cause any damage to the store.

The case is still under investigation.
