75-acre subdivision proposal in West Hall tabled
A rezoning request that would make way for a 75-acre subdivision in West Hall was tabled Monday until Nov. 11. This is the view of where the subdivision would be from nearby T. Moore Road.

A proposed 75-acre subdivision near Lake Lanier in West Hall was tabled Monday at the Hall County Planning Commission meeting.

A vote on rezoning the property off Mountain View Road is now scheduled for Nov. 11.

The initial proposal calls for lots on about one acre each, and the developer has indicated the subdivision may have 40-60 lots in total, according to the county staff report.

No amenities are planned at this point.

Hall County planners are recommending approval of the rezoning request, but with numerous conditions, including that no more than 60 lots could be developed and that lots would have no direct access to Mountain View Road.

Mountain View is a busy two-lane artery that runs from Gainesville to Lake Lanier. It ends at Balus Park off Lake Lanier, just west of the proposed subdivision.
