Five North Hall High School students were charged with possession of marijuana and have been suspended from school, according to Hall County Sheriff’s Col. Jeff Strickland.
The juveniles, three 14-year-olds and two 16-year-olds, were each charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Two of the 14-year-olds were also charged with possession with intent to distribute and were detained at the Regional Youth Detention Center. The other three students were released to the custody of their parents.
Names of the students have not been released because they are juveniles, according to the release.
The students have been suspended from school and will face a disciplinary tribunal, according to the release.
The case has been under investigation since first reported to the school resource officer Wednesday. The incident remains under investigation, according to Strickland.
