Two people were arrested Thursday and charged in connection with a Nov. 14 armed robbery in the parking lot of the Taco Bell on Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville.

Brian Dwayne Ferguson, 27, was charged with two counts of armed robbery, one felony count of theft by taking and one misdemeanor count of obstruction of an officer.

Mandy Leann Howard, 34, was charged with two counts of armed robbery and one count of providing false statements.

The victims were robbed in their vehicle in the restaurant parking lot by a man with a weapon who demanded money and other valuables, then fled.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division were able to gather clues from surveillance video footage taken by nearby businesses and witness interviews.

The two had their first appearances in Hall’s Magistrate Court on Friday.

Ferguson requested a committal hearing, also known as a probable cause hearing, set for Dec. 6.

Howard declined a committal hearing and her case has been moved to Hall County Superior Court.

Both remain in the Hall County Jail without bond.
