A 13-year-old Gainesville boy was in good condition Thursday at an Atlanta hospital after being struck the previous evening by an SUV in Clermont.
Josiah Jackson was flown to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, where he was treated for injuries suffered in the accident.
Brandy Nichole Senchisen, 29, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., was traveling south on Ga. 254 in a 2011 GMC Terrain when Josiah stepped in front of the vehicle, said Franka Young of the Georgia Department of Public Safety.
The accident took place about 6:30 p.m. on Ga. 254/Old Cleveland Road, about 100 feet north of Concord Church Road.
The driver has not been charged, Young said.
Josiah was 54 feet from a crosswalk, said Cpl. Curtis Bradshaw of the Georgia State Patrol, which worked the wreck.
"There were two witnesses," he said, adding that neither "appear to be family members."
Further details weren't available Thursday.
