11 arrested in prostitution, narcotics investigation

Eleven people were arrested in an operation by Hall County authorities investigating alleged prostitution and drug offenses.

Eight of them were arrested on pandering charges and two were charged with prostitution from a sting Friday on Bristol Industrial Way in Buford by the Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad.

The 11th was charged with obstruction, criminal attempt to possess cocaine and use of a communication device to facilitate a drug transaction.

“We had undercover officers posing as both prostitutes and also panderers, folks that were looking for prostitutes,” MANS Lt. Don Scalia said, adding it was performed over the phone and through the internet.

The MANS unit also charged two of them with possession of methamphetamine and one with possession of marijuana.

Sheriff’s Office investigators and other Hall County law enforcement assisted in the arrests. All of them were booked in to the Hall County Jail. All but the 11th arrestee have since been released.
