Laura and Jason Morris

Laura Christine Wood and Jason Larry Morris were united in marriage at 7 p.m. June 14, 2008, at The Arts Council in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Christopher and Dee Ann Wood of Buford. The groom is the son of Larry and Joy Morris of Flowery Branch.

The Rev. Jo Jo Thomas performed the ceremony.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s friend Brenna Windover of Ball Ground was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s sisters Anna and Melissa Wood, both of Buford, and Jessica Fowler of Columbus, the bride’s friend D.D. Layton of Oakwood, the groom’s sister Jessica Morris of Flowery Branch, and the bride’s friend Whitney George of Ft. Myers, Fla. The couple’s godchild Adia Reed of Flowery Branch was the flower girl .

The groom’s father was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s brother-in-law Jonathan Fowler of Columbus, the groom’s friends Billy Sheriff of Covington, Casey Reed of Flowery Branch, Chris Sins of Atlanta, and Kevin Davis and Logan Smith, both of Flowery Branch. The bride’s friend Kyle Gruss of Buford was the ring bearer. Allison Caldwell, Louise Black and Janet Wood assisted.

The bride carried a piece of her mother’s wedding gown and wore her grandmother’s engagement ring.

The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Rudolph’s in Gainesville on the eve of the wedding.

The bride’s parents gave a reception at The Arts Council in Gainesville following the ceremony.

Following a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple reside in Oakwood.
