Misty Dawn Smith and Stephen Edward Jackson were united in marriage at 4 p.m. Dec. 15, 2007, at The Grove Baptist Church in Maysville. The bride is the daughter of Debbie Smith of Lula. The groom is the son of Bruce and Teresa Jackson of Alto.

The Rev. Paul Creason performed the ceremony. Vocalists Brittany Smith and Ashley Morgan presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her grandfather Rudolph Hubbard. The bride’s friend Brittany Smith of Gainesville was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s friends Ashely Morgan of Gainesville, Heather Poole of Lula, Courtney Chambers of Gainesville and Whitney Jones of Lula. The groom’s cousin Chloe Echols of Alto was the flower girl.

The groom’s father was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s friends John West and Nick Dalton, both of Athens, Randel Whitehead of Nicholson, Gudlaugur Gunnarsson of Stykkisholmur, Iceland, and Richard Almand of Winder. The groom’s cousin Ian Echols of Alto was the ring bearer. Greeters were Lilly Echols and Carli Echols.

A rehearsal dinner was held at Jaemor Barn in Alto on the eve of the wedding and a reception was held at The Grove Baptist Church in Maysville following the ceremony. Robbie Fields was the wedding coordinator.Daphne Echols kept the bride’s book.

Following a wedding trip to Negril, Jamica, the couple resides in Alto.
