Caroline Britt Seals and R. Bertram Williams IV were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Oct. 20, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Newberry, S.C. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Joel Seals of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Bertram Williams III of Wilmington, N.C.

The Rev. Dr. Ernest Trice Thompson III performed the ceremony. Taylors String Quartet presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s cousin Miss Sarah Alston Baker of Charleston, S.C., was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s friend Laura Connor Anderson of Raleigh, N.C.; the bride’s cousin Mary DeSassure Baker of Charleston; the bride’s friends Anna Ruth Burkhead of Chapel Hill, Julia Jean Harris of New York, Molly Danielle Hebert and Allison Ann Scarborough, both of Charlotte, Winn Gentil Pierson of Charleston, Suzanne Renfrow Walker and Katherine Barrette Welch and the groom’s sister Ramsay Williams Younger, all of Raleigh. The bride’s cousins Miss Julia Garland Baker and Miss Ann Meriwether Baker, both of Greenwood, S.C., were the flower girls.

The groom’s father was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s friends Andrew Bullard Baysden of Beaufort, S.C.; Michael Corbett Brown III of Raleigh; Douglas Cameron Echols Jr. of Wilmington; James Carr Graham and Frank Reynolds Miars, both of Raleigh; the bride’s brother Mark Joel Seals Jr. of Gainesville; Thomas Berry Tayloe of Beaufort, N.C.; Robert Neill Wessell of San Francisco; Christopher Lee Woody II of Raleigh; and the groom’s brother-in-law Thomas Carton Younger III of Raleigh.

The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at the Firehouse Center in Newberry on the eve of the wedding.

The bride’s parents gave a reception at Breeze Hill Plantation in Newberry following the ceremony. The bride’s cousin Miss Charlotte Ann Winn of Charlotte and Miss Jacqueline Susan Lewis of Marietta were program attendants. Mr. Robert Theodore Davis III of Wilmington was the scripture reader.

Following a wedding trip to the British West Indies, the couple resides in Wilmington.
