Shelby Brooke Plath and James Casey Silcox were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. June 2, 2007, at Beaver Creek Chapel in Beaver Creek, Colo. The bride is the daughter of David and Debbie Plath of Vail, Colo. The groom is the son of Janis S. Cain of Gainesville and David Silcox of Dahlonega.
The Rev. David Smith of Gainesville performed the ceremony and the Rev. Eugene Scott of Vail assisted. Pianist Toni Gulzia presented a program of wedding music.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s friends Joby Nager and Renee Nelson, both of Vail, were the matrons of honor. The bride’s sister Kaitlyn Plath of Vail was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s friends Julie Braunstein of Baltimore, Michelle Click of Vail, and the bride’s cousin Tiana Plath of Vail. The bride’s cousin Summer Scott of Kansas City, Mo., was a junior bridesmaid.
The groom’s brother Chris Silcox of Dahlonega was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s friends Michael Polk and Russell White, both of Vail, Ryan O’Keefe of Gulf Shores, Ala., Andy Dyer of Savannah and Patrick Blalock of Asheville, N.C.
The bride wore diamond and pearl earrings given to her by the groom, a pearl necklace from her mother and a pearl bracelet from the groom’s mother.
The groom’s mother gave a rehearsal dinner at Red Sky Ranch in Wolcott, Colo., on the eve of the wedding.
The bride’s parents gave a reception at Allie’s Cabin in Beaver Creek Resort following the ceremony. Kelsey Plath was program attendant. A special reading was given by Andrea Dunlap. Meg Stepanek was the wedding coordinator.
Following a wedding trip to Maui, Hawaii, the couple resides in Edwards, Colo.
