Mistie and Scott Davis

Mistie Lynn Moody and Scott McNeer Davis were united in marriage at 2 p.m. April 19, 2008, at Central Baptist Church in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Deborah and Wayne O’Dell “Dell” Moody Jr. of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Sherry McNeer Davis of Marietta and the late Larry Dean Davis.

The Rev. Bryant Wright and the Rev. Randall Popham performed the ceremony. Pianists Victor Pacheco and Dixie Knowles and vocalists Linda and Faron Thompson presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her parents. The bride’s sister Megan M. Pacheco of Gainesville was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s friend Beth B. Shleton of Gainesville, the groom’s sister Anne T. Davis of Augusta and the groom’s sister-in-law Stephanie E. Davis of Marietta. The bride’s cousin Jasmine Ann Moody of Alexandria, Va., was the flower girl.

The groom’s brother Todd O’Neal Davis of Marietta was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s cousins David Koch of Washington, D.C., and Tom Davis of Athens, and the groom’s friends Josh Goodnight of Acworth and Scott C. Shelton of Gainesville.

The bride wore her mother’s pearl necklace, which was a gift to her mother from her father on the day of their wedding, a pearl bracelet and earrings, both gifts from the groom, and her sister’s veil. She carried a handkerchief that was her great-grandmother’s.

The groom’s mother gave a rehearsal dinner at Chestatee Golf Pavilion in Dawsonville on the eve of the wedding.

The bride’s parents gave a reception at Central Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Gainesville following the ceremony. Debbie Finch, Christi Miller, Amber Roberts and Robin Adams assisted. Brenda Williams was the wedding coordinator.

Sheila Watson kept the bride’s book.

Following a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Oakwood.
