Carla and Stephen Mitchell

Carla Leann Cato and Stephen Fields Mitchell were united in marriage at 6 p.m. July 6, 2013, at The Thompson House and Gardens in Bogart. The bride is the daughter of Ed and Judy Cato of Hoschton. The groom is the son of Steve and Garnie Mitchell of Cordele.

The Rev. Thomas Johnson performed the ceremony.

The bride was presented in marriage by her parents. The bride’s sister Lori Cato Clarke of Jefferson was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s friend Natalie Zimmerman of Watkinsville, the groom’s sister Mandy Personette of Roswell and the groom’s cousin Laura Leigh Carter of Cordele. The groom’s nieces Collette Personette of Roswell and Piper Personette of Roswell were the flower girls.

The groom’s best friend Wade Compton of Cordele was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s father, the groom’s brother-in-law Jason Personette of Roswell, the groom’s cousin J.T. Carter of Cordele, and the groom’s friend Paul Keith of Hogansville. The bride’s friend Marcus Tipton of Hoschton was the ring bearer.

Jessie Patton was the wedding coordinator. Kaylee Martin kept the bride’s book.

The bride wore a vintage brooch, which was a gift from her aunt, Jane Hawkinson and carried a handkerchief from China, which was a gift from her late uncle, David Martin. The wedding rings were presented on the Bible belonging to the bride’s late grandmother. The wedding date was embroidered inside the bride’s dress as her “something blue.”

The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Houndstooth Grill and Tavern in Braselton on the eve of the wedding.

The bride’s parents gave a reception at The Thompson House and Gardens in Bogart following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, the couple reside in Cumming.
