More than 200 students from 16 area high schools showed off their expertise mostly in construction fields. The Northeast Georgia Workforce Development Alliance Skills Challenge was held Nov. 7 at the Chicopee Woods Agricultural Center. Here’s how Hall County’s teams did:
Chestatee High School’s Team D won first place in broadcast news production
Johnson High School’s Team B won second place in broadcast news production, Luis Padilla won second in cabinet making, Josh Lopez won second in carpentry, Angel Amezucua won second in HVAC, Jose Negrete won third in blueprint reading and Danny Sanchez won third in team works.
Cherokee Bluff High School’s Saul Evazo won second in blueprint reading and Jackson Folkerts won third in construction careers display.
Lanier College & Career Academy’s Seth Franklin won first in construction careers display, Jackson Davis won first and Jackson Knepper third in HVAC, Alan Gutierrez won third in cabinet making and Domingo Juan won third in masonry.
West Hall High School’s Alexis Hernandez won first in electrical, Mason Gee won second in masonry and Ashley Perez won second in construction careers display.
North Hall High School’s Jonathon Wilbanks won third in welding.
