With 400 pounds of catfish and nearly 200 pounds of tilapia, Prince of Peace Catholic Church’s fish fry is a popular place on Friday evenings during Lent. Fish fry volunteer Jim Bauer of the Village at Deaton Creek in Hoschton said that’s how much fish is needed to serve about 500 people who attend the all-you-can-eat event each week. Sponsored by the Prince of Peace Men’s Club, the fish fry started in the late 1970s when the church was located in Buford.
