American Legion members have coordinated a care package from the Mars/Wrigley Co. in Flowery Branch to members of the American Legion who are deployed overseas.
Items in the package included chewing gum, DVDs, books, board games, magazines, playing cards, musical equipment and posters. The items were sent to troops stationed in Afghanistan.

Army Pfc. Michael G. Gregory has graduated from One Station Unit Training at Fort Knox, Ky., which included basic combat training and advanced individual training.
During the first nine weeks of initial entry training, the trainee completed basic combat training, including instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons, marksmanship and bayonet training and chemical warfare.
During advances individual training, Gregory completed the armor crewman course to receive training in conducting tank unit defensive and offensive combat.
Gregory graduated in 1993 from Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville.
