Air Force Airman Devanta C. Studivant recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

He is the grandson of Edward Studivant of Gillsville and son of Lucretia Hughes of Winder.

Studivant is a 2007 graduate of Winder-Barrow High School in Winder.
