Houston Leach of Flowery Branch was named to the president's list for the spring quarter at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville. To be named to the president's list, students must earn a 3.7 grade-point average. Leach is the son of James and Lisa Leach of Gainesville.

Bonnie Dean of Flowery Branch and Eula Green of Gainesville recently graduated from Kaplan University, an online university based in Davenport, Iowa.

Nicholas McCormac of Gainesville, son of Mike and Robbie McCormac, has recently graduated from the University of South Carolina. He also was named to the school's dean's list.

Jennifer Leigh Osborne and Miranda Caroline Wright, both of Gainesville, and Kenneth Roland Hannahs of Braselton recently graduated from Mercer University in Macon.

Audrey Gailey of Clermont has been named to the dean's list for the spring 2009 semester at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville.

The following students have been named to the dean's list for the spring 2009 semester at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro: Brett Newcome and Matthew Fencik of Gainesville; Charley McDaniel of Hoschton. To be eligible, a student must have at least a 3.50 grade-point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

The following area students have been named to the spring 2009 dean's list at Valdosta State University in Valdosta. To be named to the dean's list, students must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0 and must have a semester grade point average of at least 3.5 with at least nine hours of course work.
