The North Georgia College and State University Patriot Choir performs for Wauka Mountain Elementary School.

The North Georgia College and State University Patriot Choir recently visited Wauka Mountain Elementary and performed a program of patriotic music. This auditioned group of singers represents the college at military events and is under the direction of Jack Broman.

Chad M. Hulsey of Lula recently graduated from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton.

The following students have been named to the dean’s list at Young Harris College: Whitney Paige Armour of Clermont, Ryan Nicholas Bender and Amanda Michelle Lathem , both of Gainesville; Elias Jonathan Daboub of Flowery Branch; and Nathaniel Asbury Fuller of Florida.

Eight students from Hall County received degrees from Piedmont College in December. The graduates are Delana Kimbrell of Clermont; Martin Keith Mann and Andrew J. Zitka, both of Flowery Branch; Karen Lee Blackburn and Marc Anthony Chetta, both of Gainesville; Christy Louann Pruitt of Gillsville; and Mark Wayne Murray and Ashley Lynn Smith, both of Lula.

Brenau University has received a $30,500 grant from the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Foundation. The Oxford, Miss.-based foundation earmarked $25,500 of the donation for the university’s Mary Mildred Sullivan Scholarships, with the remainder going to the university’s endowment.

Phi Beta Lambda at Lanier Technical College in Oakwood donated 2,307 items of canned food to Gateway House during the holiday season. The group also held a contest to see who could donate the highest number of items. The winner, with 1,186 items, was the Automotive Collision Repair Program, led by instructors Lames Lester and Sherry Sheridan. The winning department was the business office.
