Felecia Doyle’s business document processing class at Flowery Branch High School recently did an activity with Mrs. Waycasters’ kindergarten class at Flowery Branch Elementary School. The older students created personalized activity sheets for the kindergartners. The activity sheet emphasized their sight words, beginning sounds and counting.

The Johnson High School Band’s Brass Ensemble performed at the state governor’s mansion on Dec. 8 as part of the mansion’s Holiday Tour events.

Elizabeth Ann Hamilton graduated Dec. 15 from Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn. She is the daughter of Glenn and Susan Hamilton of Hoschton.

Courtney N. Reece of Gainesville has become a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda, a national leadership and honors organization at the University of Georgia.

The following students from Gainesville have been named to the dean’s list at Berry College in Rome: Lydia Fields, daughter of Bruce and Nancy Fields; Sarah Palmer, daughter of Karen McKenzie; and Amanda Perry, daughter of Frank and Evelyn Perry.

Hunter D. Chandler of Gainesville was named to the Rhodes College Honor Roll for the 2007 fall semester. To qualify, a student must be enrolled in at least 16 credit hours and must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.85 or better. Rhodes College is in Memphis, Tenn.

The following students have been named to the dean’s list at Reinhardt College in Waleska: Shawn Clark, Whitney Fagge and Heath Roper, all of Gainesville; and Jonathan Post of Gillsville.

Kyle Chewning of Gainesville has been named to the dean’s list at Maryville College in Maryville, Tenn. He is the son of Wayne and Kimberly Chewning.
