Caleb Millwood of Oakwood was recently chosen as the fall 2009 honoree for Gainesville State College’s President’s Art Award.
A graduate of Johnson High School, he is an art marketing major. He created his still life artwork in his painting class at Gainesville State College during the fall 2009 semester. His winning piece will hang in the President’s Conference Room for the following term.

Brian Jones, a Practical Nursing student at North Georgia Technical College from Cornelia, has been named as the college’s winner of the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership.
Jones was chosen by a panel of local leaders over three other nominees for the award. The runners-up were culinary arts student Mariah Holbrooks of Cornelia, practical nursing student Lori Lesher of Cleveland and commercial photography student Kimberly Combs of Marietta.
The program honors excellence in academics and leadership among the state’s technical college students.
